Sophia Filian – 2 days old – 5-pounds & 5-ounces
Fost/Adoption can be a frustrating process. To be honest, it has been super smooth for us even with the “ups and downs” of paperwork errors and misspellings (on the states part). We were prepping for a much harder situation and are grateful for the ease of our experience.
Even with the ease and gratitude……..days like today sting a bit. Today is the 1-year anniversary since the parental rights were terminated and also 1-month until her 2nd Birthday. Sophia is still not adopted. Somedays, I feel like it is criminal and I stomp around. The sometimes simple and sometimes outrageous mistakes have cost us a year extra in fostcare for little Sophia. The mistakes were frustrating and totally beyond our control so we just buckled up for the ride and tried to keep our chins up. It helped that we knew that Miss S wasn’t going anywhere.
BTW – Next month is the 1-year anniversary of the parental rights being terminated for Delilah’s case…. and as you know…. still not adopted. She just turned 3.
The sisters are together and staying here so even with the frustration we are one HAPPY family. We are looking at early 2016 for her and (big sister) Delilah’s adoption.
