Fringe Fabric Banner for Spring
Do you wanna know my favorite part about this project….? All the strips of fabric are torn! Yep! No detail cutting is required. Just use 100% cotton and you can tear the fabric into strips. The fabric all started as white and we painted the fabric with FolkArt Acrylic paints.
Cheerful, fun colors make up a springtime fringe-like garland! This project is so easy to create as well as fun. Let the kids join in the fun helping to paint and even tear strips. This garland can be completed and hung in no time at all!
This project was featured on our Facebook Live Video for Plaid Crafts and JoAnn Fabrics. The grow sign was designed by the design team at Plaid.

1. Using scissors, cut 12” x 24” sections of fabric; cut one section for each color – (8 sections).
2. Paint each fabric section one color using a 1” flat brush. Allow to dry.
3. Measure desired length of garland (perhaps the length of a mantel), and cut a piece of bakers twine that length.
4. Once each fabric section is completely dry, tear the sections into 1/2″ strips, (1/2” x 24”)
5. Next, bundle four torn strips – assorted colors – and then tie the bundles onto the length of bakers twine. Continue filling the garland until all fabric sections have been bundled and secured.
