Are you like me when you visit a thrift shop? Hunting for things to makeover….always thinking what could I do with that? Well, Mod Podge is perfect for so many makeovers! This kitchen knife block was worn and ugly before this mod makeover.
Materials:
Folkart Acrylic Paint – Color of Choice
Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge
Foam Paintbrush
Knife Block – Primed
Scrap Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Scrapbook Paper or Color Copied Fabric
Steps:
Begin by choosing a paint color that coordinates with your scrapbook paper or color copied fabric.
Paint the knife block the color of choice using a foam paintbrush. Paint three coats allowing for dry time in between coats.
Create a paper template of the knife block by tracing the knife clock onto a piece of scrap paper.
Using the template as a guide, trace the template onto the scrapbook paper. Cut out the shapes.
Apply Mod Podge to the back of the cut out papers, press the papers into the desired position on the knife block. Press with your fingers to remove any air bubbles. Top-coat with more Mod Podge, smooth your brushstrokes. Allow to dry. Follow the cure time as labeled.
