We heart recycled crafts! Transform old soda or pop cans into candleholders. These old soda cans may be “used”, but they can also be used in our recycling re-do. With a quick clean up…they’re ready for an…. enlightening…make-over that’s pretty ‘clean cut’.

Dish washing liquid
Nail
Hammer
Permanent marker
Tin Snips
Metal Paints
Round nosed pliers
Dowel rod
Jump rings
Charms
Round nosed pliers
Glass Votive Candle Holder (1 per candle)
Votive candle (1 per candle)
Steps:
Use dishwashing soap to thoroughly clean out your tins cans. Allow to dry.
Cut the top of the can off using tin snips.
TO BE DETAILED AS PREPED: The basic idea is to cut petal shapes around the can about 1.5’ from the bottom of the can.
Use a nail and a hammer to punch nail holes around the edges and tip of the petals and around the base of the can. Use a dowel rod for support behind the curves.
Paint the lanterns with metal friendly paints.
Add beaded dangles at the tips of the petals by using round nosed pliers and a large jump ring to attach a charm.
Add the glass votive and candle to the center of the can.
