Have you done iron-on appliqué with paint? It is so simple and works for so many projects. A couple of years ago the girls dressed as Shimmer and Shine for Halloween. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Shimmer and Shine…They are soooo cute! I was lucky to find costumes for them but we needed trick or treat bags…. so of course I made some.

For this project we are using plain tote bags, Shimmer and Shine fabric, Heat n Bond Fusible Webbing.
For the tote bags I din’t prewash my fabric but if you are doing this on a project that will be washed…… make sure you prewash your fabrics.
Iron a piece of fusible webbing to the back of the fabric. Make sure you are covering the area you want use as appliqués.
Cut out the design from the paperbacked fabric.
Detail cut the designs.
Peel the paper from the back of the cutouts. The fabric should now how fusible webbing attached to the back.
Layout your design pattern.
Iron the pieces in place. Follow the instructions on the package.
Use dimensional fabric paint to go around the outer edge of the appliqué. This will add a highlight and seal the edges to the fabric.
