We are kicking off Red Ribbon Week at school today and that means today is wear your school tee or school colors. Sew what does a sewing loving mom do???? You know what I did… I stitched up my own. These tees are easy with Avery Transfers. The hardest part is to remember to flip your image if you have text.
I used Avery T-shirt transfers for this project. You can print your designs on an ink-jet printer. Make sure you flip or mirror image the image if it has text.
Start with a plain tee. I used this blue one from Cat and Jack and a red one from Cat and Jack. You will need light colored cotton fabric for the appliqué.
Print your image onto the transfer sheet. Then trim around the image.
Position the appliqué with the image down.
Iron with a hot dry iron. See your package for specific details on ironing.
Allow the transfers to cool before peeling.
Once cooled, just peel the backing to reveal your printed design.
Position on your shirt. I use a drop of glue stick to hold in position.
Sew around the appliqué.
Grab sos trim, ribbon and fun buttons to add to your design.
For this design, I used red tic-rack trim around the outer edge.
For this design, I cut a circle shape and added some fun star buttons.
Sophia and Delilah… off to school with their new mamamade school spirit t-shirts. Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo Cathie
