I knew I wanted to make some fun centerpieces for the Unicorn Dinosaur Party. I had a bunch of glittered dinosaurs left over from a Mod Podge video we did featuring glitter. Plus, I had been saving the cardboard circles from our frozen pizza nights. (I just can’t toss good surfaces especially perfect circle shapes.) LOL…. So, I had the first two elements for the centerpieces. I needed some unicorns to add to the mix and thankfully Ebay came to the rescue with the perfect little unicorns. Well…. almost perfect, I added some Mod Podge Sparkle to the unicorns for a little extra bling.
Mod Podge Glitter Video
My first step was to paint the recycled pizza cardboard. I used FolkArt Marbling paint to create a mixed Green Aqua and Lime Green base. It’s a pre-mixed paint so marbleizing is super easy.
Here is the marbled base while still wet. It took less than 1 min to paint. I love all the swirls.
My pizza rounds started to bend and curve-up when wet but they flattened as they dried.
I used Mod Podge Mega Glitter to add a little bling to the Unicorns. You just brush it on the spots where you want to have a little sparkle.
I glittered the edge of the pizza rounds with chunky green glitter. I used Mod Podge to attach the glitter.
I used hot glue to attach the unicorns and dinosaurs. I also added some glitter Easter eggs and moss to the base. I attached everything with hot glue.
I used 1 large dinosaur, 3 1/2 eggs, 2 unicorns and a few bundles of moss per pizza circle.
I added lots of random paper and silk flowers to the design. Plus, I added a few gems to the design.
As you can see each one turned out different and that was exactly the look I wanted.
For the Unicorn and Dinosaur Party, I also made these amazing Dinosaur Fossil Rocks with hidden dinos. The kids LOVED them. π
I love how the flowers added a nice pop of color! Thanks for stopping by! See ya next time. Be sure to follow along on my IG & FB to see the behind the scenes and daily adventures.
