The boots started out as plain faux-leather combat boots. They remind me of the Dr. Martins that I wore in college at Ohio State. I got these plain ones at Walmart.
In the video, I show you are super easy way to make a pattern or template with wax paper.
I’m using Fabric Mod Podge to attach the fabric to the boot. This will seal the fabric to the boot and make to very durable for weather and such. Don’t use regular Mod Podge for this. You will need the Fabric Mod Podge.

The flats are so fun to makeover. When looking for shoes to makeover, look for plain ones that have minimal details or texture. 100% cotton is best. In the video, I explain how to cut your fabric on the bias.
Fabric Mod Podge is much thicker than regular Mod Podge. It works on fabric to fabric also and it’s machine washable.
I love this pumpkin fabric! Size matters for prints. I like to use small prints with a non-directional pattern.

Ready to rock my new Halloween shoes!
For sneakers….. you can cover them all over or you can just do the fronts and back heel.
You can use a ton of different trims to finish out your shoes. For a little sparkle, use sequin trim or glitter ribbon. Ribbons and trims that have “give” or that are on the bias are the best.
