Homemade Bath Salts and Napkin Decoupage Gift Containers
Today, we are upcycling old food containers into beautiful gift jars filled with homemade bath salts straight from my garden. You can use any kind of printed napkin and any kind of recycled jar with a lid. In this video we show you all the steps to create a successful project!
Video How To!
Plastic jars like peant butter or mayo jars work great. Glass jars work good too. Make sure you clean them really well. In the video we share a few tips.
You will need printed napkins. Remember we are only using the top ply of the napkin. We explain this in the video so make sure you are separating your napkin plys.
I like to prime my jars with a coat of FolkArt Home Decor Chalk. It works on plastic or glass.
You will want to work fast….. any don’t worry you will have a few wrinkles….. that is what makes it homemade.
You can finish off your jars with any types of embellishments and ribbons that you like.
You can glitter the lids or add a band of ribbon around the lid.
This is my rose harvest from my yard. I use them to create potpourri and bath salts.
You will need to dry your rose petals.
I love growing roses…. we have over a dozen different species in our yard.
We are also using dried rosemary and lavender.
I also use essential oils in my bath salt mixes. You can use any scent you wish. Just make sure they are body safe oils.
In the video we have the recipe for the rosemary and lavender bath salts and for the rose petal bath salts.
The napkin decoupaged jars are the perfect recycled craft for gift giving!
