My family loves this Puffy Pastry Tree Appetizer! My twist on this delicious treat is that it is loaded with roasted garlic.

Begin by roasting garlic in the oven. I cut the top of the garlic off, drizzle with olive oil and salt. Wrap in foil. Bake at 400 F for 40 min. to 1-hour. Garlic should be soft all the way through.
Roll out 1 sheet of puff pastry and brush on egg wash.
Spread the Mashed Garlic.
Sprinkle on some salt and parmesan cheese.

Spread more egg wash on the second sheet of puffy pastry. Place on top of the prepped 1st piece. Using kitchen scissors, cut the sides into a tree shape. Trim the button to be a trunk. Cut branches that are 1″ thick.
Twist the branches.
Press a fork into the trunk area to seal.

Brush the tree with more egg wash and bake 375 F – about 15 min. Until it is golden and puffed.

This is such a yummy treat! I’m guessing your family will love this garlic puffy pasty tree as much as my family does.
You can also cut shapes like the stars to add to the design.
I like to make little knots with the part that gets cutaway. These are great for dipping in pesto.
